Got back home early evening, after last night's awesome #Fastloaders gig in Leicester, and after we'd eaten, our four year old wanted to know about the band.

Played him a video I'd recorded of Lost Patrol from the soundcheck, which he loved, and he wanted to listen to more...

@defold.com Any news on publishing to XBox?

It seems to be perpetually "coming soon".

Looking to get back into games development, and have a couple of small games spec'd out, ready to get started over the festive break; but whilst Defold ticks a lot of boxes for me, that missing is a deal breaker.

#Last4Albums

Went for the alternative cover of Anarchy, as the original isn't to everybody's taste.

Plenty to choose from, and no GIF, but it's from the live action version of 101 Dalmatians:

"What sort of sycophant are you?"

"Erm...what sort of sycophant would you like me to be?"
What’s the best one liner in movie history?

Deputy AG Blanche: RICO is available to all kinds of organizations committing crimes and committing wrongful acts… So is it sheer happenstance that individuals show up at a restaurant where the president is trying to enjoy dinner and accost him with vile words?

@eurogamer.bsky.social's only cookie options seem to be "Accept" or "Reject & Subscribe", so into the dumpster for sites whose content I'll not be consuming they go.

I doubt any of them care, but if there's no obvious option within two or three clicks to outright reject cookies, I leave a site.

Ah, I really do love @bmxbanditsduglas.bsky.social so much, and their set in Tim Peaks Diner at Kendal Calling this afternoon was pure joy from start to finish. Thank you.

Great to hear Air perform "Moon Safari" at @latitudefestival.bsky.social tonight, but it was completely spoilt by a whole load of people in the tent smoking throughout.

Seriously, if you're not going to manage this, at least provide
buckets of water so the audience can deal with it themselves.

Absolutely fantastic set from @alisonmoyet.bsky.social at Latitude this afternoon. Still amazing in every single way.

So @psbhq.bsky.social were absolutely glorious at Latitude, and their set has been the highlight of my festival so far.

I'm not too proud to admit that I choked up at the tribute to Ozzy, and immediately following it with "Go!" was an unexpectedly emotional release for me.

I just love how much Oleksandr Usyk in this photo, looks like John Goodman in The Big Lebowski.

Why, when I open @bsky.app does it now always show the Notifications tab.

That's not how it worked previously.

I don't want this, I want my Following feed, but there doesn't seem to be option anywhere to specify this.

Mine's "Motorcycle Emptiness" by The Manics.

I really, really, really, fucking hate that widdly little repeated guitar line, so much.

It's completely irrational, especially as I like plenty of their other stuff, and the rest of the song's fine, but I hate that guitar part with a passion.
Fuck your favourite song. Tell me your least favourite song. The one that makes you die inside the moment you hear the first 3 seconds.

Bob Geldof swearing as he described the plight of children starving in the Ethiopian famine.

It sticks in my mind mostly because we watched this in R.E., and the teacher, an older, very reserved lady, was clearly incredibly uncomfortable with the language being used.
Weirdly, ‘Dog Day Afternoon’.

In hindsight, my school was… a bit odd.
Name something you remember watching in this!

I was born the year which began with Little Jimmy Osmond topping the UK charts with "Long Haired Lover from Liverpool“, and which was therefore number one on my birthday.
Age verification?

I was born the same year as the Summer of Love. ☮️🍄✌️
I was born the same year that Julie Andrews spun on a hilltop.

Back home after a thoroughly enjoyable day at @frontendnorth.bsky.social.

All of the talks were fascinating, even those I want sure about beforehand (which is a huge plus with single track conferences, as you go to everything and so get these nice surprises) and I met a bunch of lovely people.
July 11, 2025 at 12:19 AM
A late change of plans, and a little additional re-jigging, means I'm now free for the entire day and into the evening on Thursday, so have just grabbed a ticket and booked the train for @frontendnorth.bsky.social.

Really looking for to this.

Ah, it's that time of year where all of the things in my Amazon "Save For Later" list, which have been roughly the same price since I added them months, and in some cases years ago, have jumped up massively in price, ready to be discounted on Prime Day(s) back to what they were last week. Woohoo!

Hey @theguardian.com,

With words, written by humans, after doing the necessary research, the traditional press meets an important need in modern publishing, and it's why you still have a readership.

If what you're publishing is factually incorrect, you don't meet that need, and become irrelevant.
Madsen wasn't even *in* Pulp Fiction. Christ this is all just so embarrassing.

AI DOESN'T WORK. STOP USING IT.
Reservoir Dogs was 1992, not 1994. Pulp Fiction was 2 years later, not 11 years later. Jesus Christ, @theguardian.com, whatever wretched AI rubbish you’re using in place of proper journalists, it ain’t working. Switch it off.

I'd rather have no US politics in my feed, but I mostly follow people in tech, music, and the arts, many of whom live in The States, and plenty identify as LGBTQI+; they're having a pretty shite time at present, so it's unavoidable; they need to talk about it, and we need to listen and support them.
July 1, 2025 at 4:15 PM
Some people need to do some serious growing up.

We follow actual people on here, you know, real human beings? So whilst we may follow them for fairly specific reasons, they have lives outside of that, and are going to talk about what's happening to them; that's the "social" aspect of Social Media.

Great to see @cloudflare.social exploring options which could potentially benefit content creators/owners, rather than their only option being to completely leave open or block access; which are always still options, of course.

Tied with The Princess Bride for my favourite film; must have watched both of them 50+ times over the years.
