It’s JAWS’ 50th anniversary, and I haven’t watched JAWS this year. So, I am watching JAWS.

Pluribus: Fucking hell, it’s genius.

As soon as you’re engaged with the concept, your imagination works overtime and it’ll reward you for it. Brilliant original sci-fi. And I’m annoyed that I have to wait until Friday for the next episode.

I thought the whole point of Disney buying out the Fox/Marvel stuff was that they could integrate it all into the MCU.

But then they make a Fantastic Four movie set in an entirely separate continuity. Utterly psychopathic stuff.

Picked up Amnesia: The Bunker for pennies. That creaky engine is really showing its age but, goddamn, it’s effectively scary and unbearably tense. It takes me right back to when I first played the original game years ago.

Genuinely think all this “Spooktober” bollocks is a load of, well, bollocks. Watch horror films whenever you damn feel like it. Don’t let some arbitrary calendar nonsense dictate otherwise.

But.. I watched Dog Soldiers tonight for the first time in 20+ years. And I had a proper blast with it.

Honestly, the modern popularity of Halo perplexes me a bit. The original was a game-changer in bringing shooters to controllers, which had been unplayable shit until that point, but that’s it.

Although we are indebted to its technical influence, it’s a dull, mediocre shooter with rubbish sci-fi.
Master Chief comes to PlayStation.

Halo: Campaign Evolved launches on PS5 next year, rebuilt and modernized with 2-player local co-op and 4-player online co-op: play.st/4oAYnr5

Binge-ing Mr. Scorsese, and it’s magnificent so far. A lot of the stuff I’d read about over the years, but it’s really something to see actual footage and hear people talk about it first hand.

Browsing a smelly video store makes no sense in 2025, but it’s because of the work of people like Drew that make the memories a vivid joy.

Was contemplating getting Alan Wake II in the PlayStation October sale. Imagine my surprise when I discovered it’s PHREE this month. I mean, that’s the best price.

I can see me doing a U-turn in this, given the screenshots I’ve seen today. 😂
I was gonna preorder Ghost of Yotei, but Hades 2 is SO fucking good. And fully deserving of my time right now.

Just watched the original TRON for the first time, and I feel a bit ill. Probably a film best seen in standard definition on the smallest television you can find.

Finished it now. The look of the Xenomorphs did improve in later episodes, and it’s generally a very nice-looking production.

Story has interesting ideas, just wasn’t sure an Alien property is the right place to explore them. I loved the new creatures though, especially the eyeball thing.
I’ve started Alien: Earth. The production design is utterly lush, but the Xenomorph looks like a theme park mascot or cos player. It’s a bit weird.

I got it on early access, but haven’t played that much as I was holding out for the final release. I shall be diving in this evening with a fresh save.

2025 has been utterly ridiculous for games.

Bit irritated that Ghost of Yotei is out next week, as I’ve recently let myself become a bit of a backlog wanker.

I’ve also spent about 30 hours on Stardew Valley the last couple of weeks. Catching fish, growing potatoes, and giving rubbish presents to people trying to woo them. Stupid video games.

ONE-HUNDRED-AND-SIXTY POUNDS for a System of a Down ticket?

Jesus of Fuck. How has it gotten to this? They haven’t even released anything for 20 years.

Steal This Album. My arse.

I watched The Last Castle a little while back. Not a great film, but it had James Gandolfini in fine form as a petulant antagonist and was generally enjoyable.

My main takeaway from it though, was just how naturally magnetic and cool Robert Redford was as the lead. He was part of a dying breed.

Silksong should’ve been a day one purchase for me. The original Hollow Knight is a fucking magnificent game, but a hard one to get into. Thought of playing a difficult game for “fun” right now… Christ, I can’t be bothered with it.

New Indiana Jones DLC features a puzzle where I had to Google the solution because, obviously, I don’t fucking speak Latin. Kinda frustrating.

I’ve had my Steam account since 2004 and my Xbox Live one since 2006, but I still have to do this nanny-state age verification bollocks to carry on using them.

Eh?

Just watched The Promised Land on Prime, and it’s the best recent film I’ve watched in fucking ages. Howlingly outraging, savage, and utterly beautiful to look at.

Hollywood may not know what to do with Mads Mikkelsen, but he always shines in Danish cinema. He’s exceptionally good here.

Absolutely destroyed by Death Stranding 2’s ending. How something so bizarre and baffling can carry this much emotional resonance is beyond explanation. It’s a bloody masterpiece.

Got up-to-date on Dexter: Resurrection last night, and I am floored by how good it is. Probably my favourite TV from this year.

I was basically done with all things Dexter after that dreadful season 8 finale, but the revivals have been genuinely great. Long live Dexter.
