Friends, I'm trying to purchase some Arduino kits for my engineering classes. If you're able to either purchase or share, I'd be so appreciative!

- No, all you need is Tai Chi and indoor walking.

This is so absurd. Some people are just so primed for fear.

@rosen.senate.gov you're negotiating the end of the shutdown for the promise of process as opposed to concrete concessions?? Is the Senate seat so warm that you are afraid to swing big and lose it? Stay in the fight. GOP is fully in charge and your concessions to them make it more so.

I will never be brave enough to canvass, but I so deeply appreciate people who do.
A story! Most of the 7 hours of canvassing I did today was educating people about when they could vote and celebrating the people voting for Zohran (yay to our amazing pep squad! we had a cow bell! we got cars honking for voters! so much fun!). But most meaningful was...

I agree with this and I think it puts me outside of the analysis of some people I respect. I think that some of us don't understand the Right as having its own specific social program and adherents INDEPENDENT of the Left(s).
The left did not create the right through its own mistakes. The right is not some passing reaction to the left, some temporary fever that can be cured with just the right policy tweaks.

The right exists! Reactionaries want what they want no matter what the left does or doesn't do.

LOL, that's right, I forgot that happened. That a professional flautist played that flute beautifully and people were outraged.

kind of nuts that trump is doing the equivalent of an ongoing and sustained flag-burning on national television

The opposition is handed troves of communication goldmines. I mean, leveling parts of the White House? Shooting priests in the head? Detaining Senators? Shitting on the American public from a fighter jet? Racist videos? All of it should be on every screen/b-board across the nation.

this is a dumb idea, but it appeals to me. What if @schumer.senate.gov and @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social just started holding legislative sessions of just Dems. And start presenting legislation you would LIKE to pass. Real legislation you think will be a big hit with the public.

Ok, Janet Mills it is. smh, we're running out of feet to shoot ourselves in.
Why are we even having this conversation at all. This entire conversation should just be “fuck this guy” and then we all go on with our lives confident in the fact that we kept another Nazi out of office.

The saving grace here for our democracy is that these people are overwhelmingly not original. A line of attack has worked once and now everyone is a Marxist pro-Hamas antifa all the time. It becomes a parody and people don't take you seriously.
Mike Johnson on CNBC: "I think it has a lot to do with the 'Hate America Rally' that's gonna be on the Mall on Saturday. You're gonna have all the antifa and BLM and pro-Hamas people, all the Marxists will be on the Mall."

With all the hand-wringing about the path forward, I'm more and more convinced that this is it. The obvious path of actually standing for something and methodically talking to people about it. I think that's what Zohran is doing and it's working for him.
“You can win elections by tacking to the middle; lots of people have. But you can also win elections by staking a moral position and convincing people to agree with you. You can earn support by demonstrating what is important to you instead of just being determined to nod along with what you hear.”
Yesterday I wrote about the effort by center-left pundits to police what people are passionate about.
