I reverse engineered bluesky's "what's hot" algorithm
Score = 1000000 * (likeCount / ((hours_since_post + 2) ^ 1.8))
Here's what works:
- must get likes in first 2-3 hours
- min 2 likes
- top-level posts
- 24hr window
- heavy time decay (1.8 power)
💡 tip: post when your audience is online

I’ve read several times now that Bluesky doesn’t have a real algorithm, so likes here don’t do anything beyond showing your appreciation to the creator.
The only way to boost something for others to see is through reposts.
It feels like social media back in 2008—good times. Much healthier.

"Generating a PR summary from a diff" seems fine, but one of the primary responsibilities of a PR summary is to provide context that isn't captured in the code:
- What alternatives were considered?
- Was the change motivated by a regression? Or an outage?

Maybe it’s a feature not a bug
One of my favorite Bluesky features is how their servers go down for about an hour every day so that we can all go outside and touch grass.
