Cincinnati USA. Interested in strategies which promote reinvestment and repopulation in our urban cores, car-light living, adaptive re-use. Principal advocate for Cincinnati's modern streetcar. I walk a lot. Bio: Google Gemini.
Every fifteen or so years, riverboats which ply the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers gather at Cincinnati's Public Landing for a four-day festival of cruises and food. Here's what that looks and sounds like.

Letting the health care tax credits expire would devastate American families — and we’re making that crystal clear by giving you the data.

We’ve built graphics showing how much costs would rise in every GOP district.

Let’s start with Mike Johnson (R-LA):

Pretty interesting how everywhere Trump has business associates and/or business interests did fine today: the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Turkey, the UK, Israel, El Salvador, Argentina, and of course Russia—which is full of people Trump wants to work with in the future. Only China got screwed.

Former Nebraska state senator Mike McDonnell based his campaign for mayor of Omaha on killing that city's $459 million modern streetcar project, now under construction and completely financed with local funds. He lost to Mayor Jean Stothert, the streetcar's biggest supporter.

“Transitioning” from 50 straight months of job growth, a 400% rise in manufacturing construction and the best back-to-back years for the stock market in a quarter century. 🤡
Mike Johnson: "We're transitioning from Bidenomics and the terrible economy that was delivered by the last administration. It takes a while to turn that ship around."

"TfL’s analysis shows that within a km of an Elizabeth line station in London, the number of new houses is 8-14% higher, and nearly 400,000 jobs have been created since 2015."

A smashing success: it's carried half a billion passengers since opening in 2022.

Fifty years ago, a transport revolution started in #Zürich.

#Switzerland rejected urban freeways. Zurich decided not to build a metro. It began building an S-Bahn commuter train network.

And they gave *absolute* priority to trams over cars in center of Zurich.

The result?

Among 85 regional transit routes, Cincinnati's modern streetcar finished second in 2024 ridership and first in passengers per vehicle hour and passengers per route mile. Diverse ridership & massive redevelopment all along the route which unifies the urban core. A good model for other cities.
