A bookworm with delusions of grandeur. Scribbles.
Screenwriter, playwright, occasional novelist.
Soon-to-be 2nd yr Creative Writing & Publishing.
First novella finished (bar like five typos) and writing up stuff for commissioners/editors; one chapter into my next for University, on top of all the Uni work.

This is totally normal.

Oh this NATO Article 4 thing is going to go well, isn't it?

/s in case it isn't obvious.

BORED

You know things are slow
When you go
And write a tiny stanza.
Nothing's a bonanza;
It's an act of tedium
And unsuited to the medium.
It's a low blow: the poem
Is dull, bland and not how you know 'em.

Regarding that #epstein survivors rally... at what point does ICE just disappear the lot? It feels crushingly inevitable.

It's only a matter of time - if they have a braincell between them - to do it to protect their own.

I'm curious and want to get the temperature:

Do people on here think the #US is exceptionally terrible as a country and is irredeemable or not?

I ask as someone from the UK who has his own view but before I post that I want to see what all of you think.

Even writing verse is getting old for the time being.

I'm really bored now. Waiting on another writer to finish their draft of a novel before I exchange it for notes on my novella (and the same for them) - urgh, what do I do with myself?

I could write a play or film but there's minimal opportunities for a writer of my standing.

It’s hard to write Arsonist monologues for Philosophy Tube now that so much of what the character was designed to ape is mainstream. I remember when “arresting firemen” and “setting fire to refugee hotels” was the most extreme thing I could think to make him advocate for; now it’s the news

SPEED

No, not the drug
No half three am fug
As in the hole I dug
To only make it worse
Another blasted verse

NOT POLITICS

I get it's vital and important
But this verse is a portent
If you're reading this properly:
(And if not, you need mockery)
For at risk of looking like an ass
Or arse, just please touch grass!
Yanks: little tip there for your sanity
Prior to more justified anger at Hannity

One of the great imponderables: wondering about plays by great contemporary writers that never happened for one reason or another.

Case in point: Chris Bush's 'Cerberus', which was going to have a reading at the Bunker Theatre in March 2020.

SHARPENING THE MIND

Oh please dabble in poetry:
Please please please I beg you.
It doesn't matter what medium
But as far as literary Elysium
Goes it's hard to beat.

Small, complete and efficient:
Any writer can get proficient
In this. Whether plays, prose
Films with production woes
We need variety

BREAKING PROMISES

An earlier poem went horribly wrong
So allow me to bang on my gong
Of my own scheduling failure
(Hey, least I'm not impaling ya!)
Kind of on hiatus now; other projects beckon
No not going to say, what did you reckon?

FIRST DRAFT OF FIRST NOVELLA FINISHED!
Outline began mid-Jan; writing began in Feb; first draft finished TODAY! 31k words, 134 pages!
August 10, 2025 at 1:08 PM
Penultimate chapter of first draft started! This one might take one or two days to write, because bloody hell, it's a biggie!

Hey #uk #playwrights of BlueSky - how are we finding the whole getting-produced lark atm?
August 7, 2025 at 11:32 PM
Two chapters from the end of the first draft of my novella!

Quite invigorating actually... and to my surprise the process of book writing is significantly more enjoyable than I thought! I might end up dabbling in #novellas more. Good practice for a #playwright. Also satiates perfectionist streak...

What the Hell is up with the #OnlineSafetyAct - it sets itself up for massive failure, both personal and political. Personal because it only takes one data breach and millions of people have their lives ruined for countless reasons. Political because Starmer will be forever known for Wank Licence.

DOING IT DAILY

It's a neat little habit
Lines leaping like rabbits
To do a verse every day.
Even though probably it may
Be rubbish, it's good practise
For... something, may impact us
An arbitrary little string of words.

STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS

At this rate everything I write will be poetry
A neat little witticism wrapped up in a pun
When all is done, it's probably as fun,
When you're trying for a light bit of escapism
As the poetry equivalent of scaphism

META

Tech-related poem are booming
(Or my awareness is mushrooming
In a great ball and gone and clean,
Despite the reams and reams and reams
Of crappy verse being sent into cyberspace
As I hide deep in my carapace
And add my dreck to the sinking wreck
Hey, name of company related to tech!)

BLUE SKY WITH CLOUDS

If anyone was on this platform
An attempt to perform -
(In words, obviously, what did you expect?)
The slightest glimmer of great, the next
Hopeful star somewhere out here.
Unless they're out there having a beer
And, oh I don't know, possibly, like
Attending an open mic?
July 23, 2025 at 12:49 AM
#YOU'RE #ALL #IDIOTS
Anyone here? Anyone at all?
Are you sententious tits having a ball?
Is this platform so boring you want to log off?
Or see a man chopping his c--- off?
Listen here, you galumphing fools
No-one thinks you're a rebel for the rules
You can't name texts on here correctly
Skeets???

TWO O CLOCK POEMS

Why am I doing this what am I doing?
This is me verbally pooing
All over your feed in the earliest morning
Why are you reading? This is boring
