Me: "Pretty nice to be able to talk sports and laugh at jokes without constantly being called a pedo lizard-man."

Media: "Has the left gone too far with their echo chambers?"
I'm positive I've been beaten to this but...

Not really an overstatement to say that the test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country's leader on TV without repurcussions.

Kroger will lay off ~1,000 employees.

In December, it announced $7.5B in stock buybacks – which juice stock prices, enriching shareholders and boosting CEO pay.

Just so happens that Kroger's last CEO was paid 457x its typical employee in 2024.

Textbook corporate greed.

Crazy idea I know but maybe we wouldn't be having an international incident with South Korea if we treated detainees like human beings instead of degrading and torturing them.

Don't get me wrong - detained for no reason is still very bad, but not as bad as detained and tortured for no reason.

I’d think what you’d want during a highly volatile, politically polarized time marked by violence is a president who can appeal to our common values and humanity and inspire calm and unity, rather than promising revenge.

I bet more flags will be burned in response to this than in the last few decades combined.
Trump: “If you burn a flag, you get one year in jail, no early exits, no nothing. You get one year in jail…You burn a flag, you get one year in jail…You will see flag burning stopping immediately.”

Ten years in to pretending to be a Christian and he still can't demonstrate even the most basic VBS level understanding of Christianity. I suppose his Christian followers don't seem to care so I guess he hasn't deemed it necessary to learn.
Trump: "I want to try and get to heaven if possible. I hear I'm not doing well. I hear I'm really at the bottom of the totem pole."

These two things cannot both be true:

1: throwing a sandwich at a federal officer is a violent assault worthy of prosecution.

2: raiding the Capitol grounds, assaulting police offices & vandalizing federal property in an effort to interfere with an election is a harmless protest worthy of pardons.

This is exactly how Republicans teach their voters to react to poor performance from their elected officials. Don't examine what went wrong and what could be done better (you know, the way football teams do), just accept that things went bad and oh well I guess they're supposed to do that.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott uses a football analogy to explain why he isn't placing blame for flood response: "Every football team makes mistakes ... The way winners talk is not to point fingers."
