I can't pretend I haven't been down about my career lately, but looking at my shelf of work is a reminder I've accomplished plenty and been luckier than a lot of people. As slow as this year has been, there's still projects in the works and the belief that opportunity's ahead.

Other times, a kid comes up with a copy of your book from home, asks you to sign it and then shows you a button they drew of one of your characters.
Suddenly all the pain melts away and I am reminded I have the best job in the whole world.
