Hiya! While I've been active here via my personal profile, I only recently launched my editor profile on here. I may merge my accounts one day, but, for now, this account is to talk mostly about books, writing, & editing. I'd love some help connecting with authors and other editors on here!

Many turn to life writing as part of a healing journey from a trauma or difficult event. And while there’s countless evidence to show the therapeutic nature of such writing, it’s crucial to protect your own mental and emotional health while doing so.

I prioritize connection. I want to understand your voice, your story, and your vision. Editing is a collaboration, not just a service.

I hear it often on discovery calls:

"I have a really good feeling about you."

That feeling matters.

Do your reading habits change with the season? I know I tend to dive into heavier, longer texts in the darker months, and I seek faster-paced, more uplifting reads in the summer. Saying that, if a book piques my interest, I don’t wait to read it.

One of the ways that writers participate in the writing community is via contests. One such contest, Writing Battle, is a competitive writing platform for storytellers around the world, and I am thrilled to be a judge in the upcoming round.

I encourage you to check it out!

One of the most common questions I get asked by memoir writers is how to portray their story authentically, when memory fades, in a way that they won’t get sued. As writers, we have many tools we can use to minimize hurt and yet still tell our story authentically.

I understand that every narrative carries weight—especially when discussing health. In my blog, I talk about the words we use when writing about health and how it shapes and validates (or invalidates) how someone may feel about their own health.

I fondly remember my first guest Kim Lee on my podcast These Are Our Stories

Kim’s memoir explores the hidden world of swingers, but more than that, it also dives into what drives relationships and explores how we can come back to each other when trust has been broken.
