ICE is staging in a garage on Centre St & Howard in lower Manhattan ahead of what neighbors believe is a planned large-scale raid of Canal

Estimated 20-25 agents inside, with more steadily joining, some taken by surprise and caught with their masks down.

State courts are starting to look more carefully at the legal framework of these agreements, since these detainments are effectively new arrests, which might exceed what state law enforcement is permitted to do by their legislatures.

ICE pays for detention facility beds on a “per diem” or daily arrangement, about $165 a day. The biggest major private prison vendors are CoreCivic and GEO Group. Despite huge rises in their stock prices (juiced by 'buybacks'), they are drifting lower.

According to mappingpoliceviolence.us, police kill at least three people per day; from a meta analysis published in NYT, we now know the number could be six or even more.

This is an interesting ruling--Comey is out of the woods for the moment, but the Court is making it clear that the DOJ could re-indict him if they use a properly appointed U.S. Attorney (double jeopardy doesn't apply here as it was dismissed w/o prejudice)
A federal judge has thrown out the Trump administration's indictments against James Comey and Letitia James, ruling that the appointment of interim US Attorney Lindsey Halligan was invalid.
