I am once again asking cities to install usable bike parking instead of whatever this is. Could you imagine if cities installed car parking spots that were based on art versus functionality?

A reminder that cars aren’t a technology problem. They’re a geometry problem.
Waymo privatized another public street:

Chanel approaching 4th, San Francisco

Possibly queued for a Billie Eilish show at Chase Center ~half mile away.

The light rail train on 4th seen passing in front of this roboherd has more passenger capacity than all of them combined.

As all this disgusting Epstein shit starts surfacing more and more, I hope we don't lose sight of the fact that apparently every major media outlet knew everything and instead spent their time money and energy attacking the trans community.

New air cleaner paper! @airqing.bsky.social challenged an oxidation-based cleaner with an air freshener, and saw tons of chemistry. In particular, ethanol (a common ingredient in cleaning products, and ubiquitous indoors) oxidized to form acetaldehyde and formaldehyde.

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

This political prosecution is an attack on all of our First Amendment rights. I’m not backing down, and we’re going to win.

These are both the best and the worst episodes
You know what is a weird thing I miss about regular TV seasons?

Obligatory seasonal holiday episodes.

Like, no one dropping 8 episodes in July is going to give you an unhinged Halloween ep, a totally inappropriate murder on Christmas ep, and probably some weird Valentine's Day nonsense.

There are real people on the end of these grants. Rust belt autoworkers. Great Plains farmers and roughnecks. Coal communities looking to a new economic future.

It’s genuinely heartbreaking. They don’t have do this — the money is already obligated — but I guess they enjoy destroying lives.
Some additional info on the new list of axed DOE projects circulating.
- All 7 H2 Hubs
- All 13 IRA grants to convert at-risk auto plants to EV mfg
- 11 of 15 grants to speed domestic clean energy mfg in former coal communities
- 10 of 38 grants for battery materials
