The Chinese script for Super Mario Galaxy on the Switch is re-translated from the original (Japanese), and not ported from the Shield Version. It appears that Nintendo almost always have different Chinese scripts for the original and remake.

Kamek no longer tells Mario to "go to hell" in the Simplified Chinese script of the Switch version of Super Mario Galaxy 1+2.

The Switch translation is more literal to the Japanese script, where Kamek tells Mario to roll on the ground instead.

Nintendo Today launches adds Chinese language support and is released in Hong Kong and Taiwan today.

The North American version of today's Nintendo Direct will be streamed through the app with Chinese subtitles for the Chinese audience.

Tencent Video will be removed from the Tencent Nintendo Switch eShop on September 25, 2025.

The app cannot be downloaded if it is deleted from the console after that date. However, it will remain accessible until all internet services for the Tencent Nintendo Switch terminate on May 15, 2026.

Repair services for Tencent Nintendo Switch consoles and accessories will terminate on December 31, 2026.

Online services (Nintendo eShop, game updates, and online matchmaking) for the Tencent Nintendo Switch was already announced to terminate on May 15, 2026.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Update Pack of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is given a price of 10 HKD or 31 NTD.
The pricing suggests that the Nintendo eShop would launch in Taiwan sometime around the release date of this game: Sept 19, 2025.

Nintendo's global region selector portal (www.nintendo.com/region-selec...) adds a direct link to Nintendo Hong Kong's Simplified Chinese website.

Nintendo Hong Kong has had a Simplified Chinese site since 2013.

Nintendo Switch 2 adds Pinyin IME for Traditional Chinese, in addition to Zhuyin, Cangjie and Quick.

This feature is exclusive to Switch 2 and not available on the original Switch on the latest system version.

Nintendo has released five consoles in China that had some sort of online service (including the China edition of NVIDIA Shield TV 2017, which Nintendo has contributed 5 games to its library).

The list of games "in active preparation" has also been removed from Tencent Nintendo Switch's software lineup page.

Warranty, repairs and sales of both accessories and game cartridges would not be affected by the online service suspension of the Tencent Nintendo Switch.

Chinese tech media 36Kr received exclusive information about Tencent Nintendo Switch online service shutdown:

The TNS online service was run by a long-time partner of Nintendo, but said partner would no longer be available due to their recent change in their business in China.

On November 26, 2019, the Tencent Nintendo Switch Weibo account posted a Super Mario Galaxy video.

This post was made over nine months before Super Mario 3D All-Stars was announced, with no mention of the Chinese Nvidia Shield version, as the video used footage from the Japanese version instead.

Super Mario Party Jamboree introduced the Chinese name for Ztar: 惺星, from 星星 (star) and 惺 (to come to realize).

While 惺 is by itself not a negative word, the radical忄(heart) is often used with characters associated with (negative) emotions.
