Attending that final concert was one of the highlights of my concert going life.
Alfred Brendel’s last concert in Vienna in 2008. A look of happiness on his face that, finally, it was all over. And with the small group of pianists lucky enough to have studied with him. He still had so much to give, but I treasure this moment of relief and intimacy. RIP
