Sometimes I see people like 20 tweets deep into an argument with Grok. Like, what are you doing brother? You are trying to win an argument with a vending machine.

It shouldn’t be forgotten that a big piece of Mamdani’s campaign was simply “cities are cool and lots of people enjoy living in them” which in and of itself dismantles alot of rightwing talking points

peter thiel (clutching chrome plated human skull) tell me oracle... does the world end in fire, or ice? the passionate flames of the activist thunberg, or the frozen doom yudkowski demands?

chatGPT: ✨ What a great question, Peter! ✨

Let's break that tough Q down 🕺, in your favorite epic style:

Pretty confused by how TRON became a big-budget movie franchise. Was it a bit hit when it came out? No. Did it become a big hit on video/TV? Also no. Do people have fond nostalgic memories of it? Eh kinda but not really. Was it secretly great and critically acclaimed? No again

@schmolik.bsky.social I know this book! It’s Aurora by Kim Stanley Robinson
On this subject, can any of your correspondents remind me of a book I read where human beings travelled in a huge ship for generations to colonise a faraway planet, but had to give up because of lethal microbes? I enjoyed it a lot but have forgotten the title.

You are not 'chatting' with an AI bot anymore than you are chatting with your sofa leg when you stub your toe in the dark. This is an inanimate object. One that has some utility, but it is not alive.

Anything under 4 figures I am coming away with a win lol.

18% of tips/complaints that come to the SEC relate to crypto, even though the crypto market is less than 1% of all financial markets

More yankee Democrats should be encouraging southerners to flee north. It's existential for electoral college math at this point and it's a good counter narrative to the mostly BS "fleeing blue cities" commentary (in reality many blue cities are so desirable that housing is too expensive)

I really should have seen it coming that a substantial portion of society was actively craving the ability to outsource their critical thinking opportunities to a machine. It makes so much sense given everything else we already knew about the public but I still didn't realize it

it's jolting how little AI skepticism has reached the general public. i've had many acquaintances ask whether i use AI for research and seem shocked when i tell them it's completely useless for that purpose. my wife recently told her colleagues about hallucinations and it was news to all of them.

As Orioles fans we should expand our repertoire of player-specific cheers. Mooing for Cowser is wonderful and we should have more. When Heston Kjerstad homers we should all do the old west standoff whistle. For Adley we should bark like sea lions. Let's get weird with it
