Another wedding today. This one with a widow and a man whose wife left him and their six children for another man. Now all that weeping is turning to joy. A picture of redemption if there ever was one!

Attended a funeral tonight for a 17 year old who took his own life this week. If you’re struggling, talk to someone. Life can be very, very hard sometimes.

86 year old missionary spoke at our church this morning. She’s spent many years traveling in rural Africa and teaching about the innate dignity of women as made in God’s image, and what appropriate respect for them looks like in a marriage and in the community. Good work!

Been doing some in-depth bible study in Exodus this summer. The first two chapters repeatedly highlight women as models of courage, compassion, and ultimately as saviors. Especially Pharaoh's daughter: she sees, she pities, she goes down and draws the helpless out - just like God himself does next.

Just met with a young couple getting married this weekend. It's wonderful to see two joyful young people genuinely excited about giving their lives to each other. Feels like a fresh breeze to blow away my cynicism.
