This. It's mind boggling to me that some people think we can spew megatons of carbon into the atmosphere year after year, increasingly high amounts .. and it's like "normal". It's a special kind of stupid, evil stupid.

For a multitude of reasons, this is a very bad idea. Creating more ecological damage by burying forests will not address the primary issue -- the burning of fossil fuels.

I’d love to see more tidal wetland restoration projects in Canada. We know some places will be flooded as sea levels rise, can we use them to sequester carbon and protect arable land in places like the Annapolis Valley (NS)?
The Bay Area is more than halfway toward its goal of restoring 100,000 acres of tidal wetlands, which are a natural buffer to floodwaters from future sea level rise.
