Very excited to announce a project we’ve been developing with @chris-sandom.bsky.social at @sussex.ac.uk. We’ve been working with Chris and team to produce a series of films about Nature Sense, a research enterprise that aims to establish a bio-diversity monitoring network across southern England.
Who do food systems really benefit? In the final part of our film series for @foodequitycentre.bsky.social and @ids.ac.uk, @stuartgillespie.bsky.social gives his take on how to fix the global food system.

Next up in our series asking how we can transform global/local food systems - our own (Food Equity Centre and @ids.ac.uk's) Lidia Cabral. Check it out! And thanks again @philbakernz.bsky.social @deewoods.bsky.social for the earlier videos in this series and @chalkstonefilms.bsky.social !
New video 🎬

Modern food systems encourage overconsumption and overproduction.

As citizens, we need to reassess our relationship with food.

It was a pleasure to speak with the team from @foodequitycentre.bsky.social at @ids.ac.uk about transforming the global food system. I was visiting to speak about the global health challenge of ultra-processed foods, and we made this short video 👇 please check out the wonderful work they are doing
What would it take to transform the global food system?

For @philbakernz.bsky.social, redistribution of resources to enable more households to access healthy food is the key.

From academic discourse to government policy, research is all about effecting change. And we believe that film has an important role to play in bringing about that change.
