I had a great meeting this morning with Blueprint Poetry Press editors Jo Colley and Julie Hogg discussing the proofs for my pamphlet 'Year of the Rat'--it's looking to see the light of day later this winter. I'm very happy it's in their capable hands. 😊😊😊

Since the US election, friends have asked how I feel about the results, which has been difficult to encapsulate. Today I suddenly remembered this poem I wrote 3 years ago in the wake of January 6th & was later published in High Window. Foremost, it shows that the world hasn't quieted down.

Guardian headline: "AI poetry rated better than poems written by humans, study shows". To more accurately reflect the study, I suggest a different wording: "People who don't read poetry can't even tell the difference between AI generated verses and those written by actual poets."

Spent a very indulgent, lovely weekend with the family in Hay-on-Wye touring bookshops and catching up, coming home with a nice cache. Lowell's Collected Works was a steal getting it for a third of the price. 🥰
