So true. SO. TRUE. One of the hardest things to quantify is how many people did *not* die (or experience harm or loss) thanks to protective measures. Seat belts, air bags, weather warnings, air pollution reductions, vaccines, medical treatment and preventions, and on and on. Leads to complacency.
A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

It's not a "crew." These people are not astronauts, they are passengers. This is not feminism. This is not anywhere in the neighborhood of feminism.

This is the glossy capitalist influencer ripoff known as "empowerment" and it's just gross!

Rachel is truly your least favourite person's least favourite journalist. Support independent journalism.
I’m devastated, but I’m also angry. I’m angry because this is an attack on press freedom.

If opportunities can be stripped from journalists simply because enough people repeat the same bad-faith narrative, how can anyone withstand the career impact of doing work that matters?

Whole Foods, which is owned by notorious union-buster Amazon, is arguing that Trump's dismantling of the NLRB means the company doesn't have to recognize a newly unionized store in Philadelphia.

Looks like Jeff Bezos's investment in Trump is paying off.
