Can you think of a single movie in which there is a video from the government denouncing its political opponents playing on a loop in public spaces in which that government was the good guy?
A new Noem video is being played at airports trashing Democrats.

It was great to be part of the discussion and offer a perspective as both a parishioner of @churchofengland.org and a member of @seaoffaithnetwork.bsky.social and @humanists.uk - there are lots of people for whom the church is significant even if they dont hold typical Christian beliefs.
The Crown Nominations Commission will soon decide the next Archbishop of Canterbury. At a time of unprecedented turbulence in the church and society, what qualities should the new leader bring?

Voices from across the CofE join journalists to share their views in our latest briefing, available now:
RMC Briefing: Who will be the next Archbishop of Canterbury?
A broad spectrum of people from the Church of England joined journalists in explaining the character they are looking for in the next Archbishop of Canterbury

Parishioner @cestnickell.bsky.social said he'd like an Archbishop to believe in a "truly national church, a service for everyone ... Lots of non-religious people like a sacred space - the music and the culture of the church - but feel they can't go because they don't believe the right things."

🚨 BREAKING | 1,339 people have now been arrested on "terrorism" charges in 2025, with almost all of them busted for holding signs at pro-Palestine protests.

This is more than any year on record, by far.

Whatever your views of Palestine Action, considering that we have people attempting to set alight to hotels housing people seeking asylum, attacks on minorities, backlogs for sexual assault cases etc etc, can we not agree that this is a massive overreaction by the Met?
The Metropolitan Police have released updated figures for yesterday's protest by people holding signs saying "I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action"

857 people were arrested "for showing support for Palestine Action" and 33 for other offences, including 17 for assaults on police officers

A duck walked up to the lemonade stand and he said to the terf running the stand, “hey, bom bom bom, got any grapes?”

The terf said “no, just lemonade, but do you have a penis or a vagina? No vagina, no glass”

The duck said “I’ll pass”

The terf said “NO YOU DON’T WE CAN ALWAYS TELL”

It’s been a while since I worked in health policy, but then question of what is going to happen to ICSs in the latest revamp of the NHS has been bothering me. Interesting to see discussion of it here
Last week, the PM announced the abolition of NHS England. And at @reformthinktank.bsky.social we were very pleased to hear this!

But now, important questions about who will take over NHS England's responsibilities need to be decided.

I keep meaning to print a t-shirt with the slogan 'Man-made god, man-made money, man-made borders'. If people thought of these things as changeable human creations, not natural facts, how different people's attitudes to religion, social justice and migration would be!
When so many people in our world are oppressed and others privileged, can non-realist theology be deployed as a tool of liberation, or is it a politically quietist endeavour? Alison Wheeler will lead this free SOF webinar. 19th March, 7pm. Request a link here: InConversation@sofn.uk

The BBC are kants for this
Of course the BBC complained 🙄
🇲🇹 TVM reports this decision was made after a report to the #Eurovision Reference Group by an EBU member, "understood to be the BBC."

TVM is "considering all the steps it can take", after being asked to communicate a decision within 2 days before the EBU's 10 March deadline.

Weird trope I've noticed in industry press-releases - use of the phrase 'penetrating the NHS' to announce they've got a contract in a hospital.

There is some weird tempo changes and clipped beats in Emmi's Laika party and I'd love to know what the reasoning is. It's really interesting. #eurosong

Top for me on #eurosong is Bobbi Arlo
Then Niyl and Samantha's My Way
Then Adgy, Emmi and Fire.
I just didn't find Laika party as much of a bop as I'd normally find that kind of song. Niyl's growth is the one that grew on me most. I think the sound mixing really did Bobbi dirty.

from a UK perspective I can confirm people throw around 𝙀𝙪𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙖𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚™️ too quickly, but Bobbi Arlo would absolutely keep Ireland in the final, the Irish Eurovision renÉiressance is alive and well.
