@joycevance.bsky.social and #sistersinlaw, What do you all think about vacation destinations in the U.S. these days? Stick to blue states? Hit up red states (judiciously)? I have roots in Alabama and would love to see the Civil Rights sites. Thoughts?

MN is proud to help feed the world (in fact, this program was created by Hubert Humphrey). Now not only is that in jeopardy, but millions of dollars in income for farmers is too? Disgusting.

This food, which we’ve already paid for, is waiting on ships to be delivered to those who need it.
Shuttering of USAID could mean the end of millions in income for Midwest farm operations
Frozen by Elon Musk’s DOGE personnel, the USAID program purchased $70 million in commodities in 2024 from Minnesota vendors.

The Supreme Court adjunct office
NEW: ProPublica has identified three lawyers with elite establishment credentials who’ve joined the DOGE effort. Two of their names haven’t been previously reported as working for the Elon Musk-led initiative.

Here’s what we know about them:
The Elite Lawyers Working for Elon Musk’s DOGE Include Former Supreme Court Clerks
Much attention has been paid to the young Silicon Valley engineers working for Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, but the group has also hired high-powered legal talent.

Exhibit B in my ongoing series:
"Stop Asking When Trump Will Tire of Musk--Musk. Owns. Trump."

That's why Musk gets the same treatment as Putin gets from Trump: no criticism, only praise, no matter what.

The broligarchs bought a controlling share of the White House for just $250mil. Cheap!
REPORTER: Do you have a reaction to the new Time Magazine cover that has Elon Musk sitting behind your resolute desk?

TRUMP: No. Is Time Magazine still in business? I didn't even know that. Elon is doing a great job.

My single prediction for 2025 in tech: Trump is asking for the delay in ban/force sale going into effect, so Elon can make a bid for TikTok, prolly with involvement from Larry Ellison (again) and other Twitter investors (again) in order to turn a lemon into rancid lemonade. China will cooperate.

If you steal $1000, you can be sent to prison.

When health insurance companies steal over $68,500,000,000, they get tax breaks, subsidies and government contracts, while letting their customers die or go into debt.

But keep blaming immigrants and poor people for rising crime.

For Canadians, once you're in the hospital, the province takes care of the bill.

No one in Canada has ever declared bankruptcy because of hospital bills.

America is, in fact, alone in this regard.
