Hic / Ille. A weird mixture of interests from medieval Latin, to digital humanities and note-taking apps.
And the award for the best design and user experience in the button department of public transport comes to the trinity of buttons in Prague trams. A fun fact: if you want to get out of the tram with a baby carriage, you have to press the small black button twice.

@leaflet.pub Is there a possibility how to move an existing leaflet doc to a publication? :)

Is there some easy to use local LLM for translating PDFs/documents? Ideally for Mac? :)

To assimilate or not to assimilate – that is a late medieval palaeographical question!

I wonder how accurrate these replies about HTR technology are. To be honest, I find LLMs quite useful for explaining this type of information but - of course - it is difficult for me to verify.

I have to start a conspiration theory that #imcleeds has purposefully bad coffee at the conference, so you buy coffee from coffee shops on the campus.

I was too quick with my hopes. Eurostart train broke down. Delay... at least two hours? But who knows. Last announcement was in French and Flemish... Anybody else travelling to IMC Leeds stranded in Brussels? :D

Travelling by train from Vienna to IMC Leeds is always an adventure — this time with three train changes! 😲
So far, the journey is going well (I'm currently traveling from Amsterdam to Paris).

Considering switching from Dropbox to something else (privacy reasons) and I found out about pCloud. Do you have experience with it? :)

Today I learned that in 1984, they were preparing a digital edition of a text by typing it on a typewriter with an OCR-R font and then scanning it. (Hans Fix: Production and usage of a machine-readable manuscript).

My fascination with this inscription in Prague will never cease. I refuse to Google why the image looks so strange. :) I don’t want to shatter the magic.
