Yeah, this is similar to a distinction I see as very important to male supremacy:
Heroic manhood vs. enemy manhood
The enemy man is the competitor to the heroic man. Once we register this, most of what gets called misandry makes a lot of sense as part of the same male supremacist agenda.

I do think there's a way in which society demonizes maleness but it's like a proto-fascist tendency vs reflective of any kind of institutional oppression of Men. i.e. we love our white Christian patriarchs in the US but brown Muslim men are infinitely dangerous and must be destroyed
