Just remember - *none of the respondents* who told pollsters that Starmer was unpopular, Labour wasn't working, the Greens or Reform would be better in Government, or the economy was in a bad state this week saw *any of these* News items, or any of the hundreds of previous ones.

Not Labour's fault.

I bet none of you saw announcements of any of these 12 things in your preferred News Media (TV, Radio or Print) this week.
Downing Street hold 2 Press Conferences *every day* with all UK Media in attendance, where they are told about these items.

So - why don't they report them?

This wife talking about her husband becoming radicalised by Farage and those like him really is quite extraordinary in its heartbreaking understatement.

"He absolutely wanted it to be [a terrorist attack]. The grin on his face. He wanted an I-told-you-so."

The UK Labour Party defines itself as a "democratic socialist" part in the first sentence of Clause IV. And has since the 1990s.

That's how woeful the BBC claiming it's a term with no definition is. Good grief.
I don't know what is more depressing. That the BBC seems to have no clue what democratic socialism is or that someone who comments on politics for a living thinks it's the same as communism.

Jesus wept, indeed. GCSE, Introduction to Politics, Chapter 1, stuff.

Vital piece of investigative reporting from Sky. They've uncovered the X algorithm which feeds users extremist right wing material from the moment they join the site. It is a far-right radicalisation engine, by design.

Happy #NoKings day to all our friends in the US!

Here's a parody of "Bui-Doi" (Miss Saigon) about the protests, sung initially from the perspective of ICE 'veterans'. Sorry about the ropey accents. 😜🎶

It'll soon be 10 years since the Brexit ref. So much has changed since then. If Brexit is the cause of our economic problems, as the government now admits, then surely we need to ask ourselves whether we want to carry on down the Brexit road or turn around and head back to the Single Market and EU.

I recall a question being asked once of whether it was possible that Kemi Badenoch as Trade Secretary did not know the details of mobility discussions with India, and well, evidence like this suggests it was very likely (some of those working around her confirmed this also)

"So you're laying waste to people's jobs, but you don't know how many?"

Kemi Badenoch plans to get rid of 'quite a lot' of civil servants.

She doesn't have the exact figure, but she assures Nick that she's 'looked at it'.

If only Fic Nerrari et al challenged the Tories like this while they were in power?
Pushed repeatedly on why she doesn't know how many civil servants would lose their jobs under her plans, Kemi Badenoch finally goes with: "If a job shouldn't exist then it isn't really a job".

Interesting that the most reported things I have seen about the Tory Conference so far is about a spelling error on a chocolate bar and Jenrick ranting about white faces

Not exactly "cutting through" are they?

Today's cowardly attack effectively took place as the conclusion of the UN General Assembly week, and it is precisely how Russia is showing its true position. Moscow wants to keep fighting and killing and deserves only the harshest pressure from the world.

Why are the American president's claims about autism the first item on British news bulletins?

He's not our president, the advice doesn't apply here and he's not presented any evidence to support his assertions.

So why spread these claims? What make this the biggest story in the UK?

The problem with this ‘let’s weaken our commitment to the ECHR so as to fend off Farage’ plan is that when it doesn’t work, we end up with Farage *and* a weakened commitment to the ECHR at exactly the moment we need the ECHR the most.
