This is such a good point. Ozzy Osbourne had a band called Black Sabbath and invented heavy metal music and Hulk Hogan was in the Rocky movies and had children's shows and action figures. Ozzy is now universally beloved and people are holding marathon forgetting sessions to rid themselves of Hogan.
Watching the shift in response between Ozzy and Hogan’s death should serve as a reality check to everyone that in life, it doesn’t matter how much money you manage to accumulate or how you express yourself - people will remember you for who you were as a person, esp. others.

Be a force for good.

PSA: If you're moving a big metal bathtub in the bed of your pickup, even if it FEELS like it's not going to go anywhere no matter how many bumps you hit 'cause it's heavier than a dead star...you still need to tie it down.

That's all I'm hearing right now. Nobody knows what a god damned power button is, or what parental controls are, or, you know , TALK TO YOUR KIDS!

you rail against how wasteful AI is since it’s an idiotic technology and yet you meet your basic needs using modern conveniences? interesting.
this fucking sucks so bad lmao

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but your children are not extensions of you. They are their own people. They have rights. It is your job, should you have children, to protect those rights. And it is the community’s job to call you the fuck out if you’re not doing that.

Got the stinkiest of stink eyes from my oldest this morning because I noticed she'd left her dinner leftovers out the night before and put them in the fridge...not knowing she'd deliberately left them out so they'd spoil overnight and she wouldn't have to eat zucchini casserole.

When I talk about my opposite and naked hostility toward AI, people will point to emergent technology in the past that disrupted. But the thing is were I there at the time, I would have been an opponent of that too. This does not mean I am anti-technology, or didn't want the tech to develop. 🧵

Oh, the things I could achieve if I had half the tenacity and conviction of a toddler steadfastly refusing to eat her eggs (which she likes and asked for) for some goddamn reason.

My older kid left for summer camp today, and apparently made us an offer we couldn't refuse on her way out. 😳

We're stoked to introduce the 'No Gen AI' seal for indie games!

Indie devs can use it on their game's store page to assure potential players that their game was made without the use of Generative AI.

You can grab it from the Polygon Treehouse website:-

AI has allowed the most incurious people on earth to briefly surface like cicadas before fizzling out and leaving the landscape dotted with their abandoned husks. Just IMO

The fun thing about the age gap between my kids is, it's just big enough that by the time the older one finally stopped making massive messes by picking up big globs of cooked rice and eating them like apples, the younger one discovered the joys of doing just that.

SIGHHH. Happy "dinguses you wouldn't trust with a butter knife set off actual explosives the week before AND the week after the actual designated fireworks day, making your kids' sleep worse and giving your pets PTSD" Independence Day to my countryfolk who celebrate, I suppose.

Your daily reminder not to ask ChatGPT for help with your legal troubles. Or your medical questions. Or your homework. Or...anything, really.
I have three hearings at three different courthouses today. At the second, someone was sobbing outside the courtroom. They'd asked ChatGPT what to say in Court. They believed what it told them.

They lost because it hallucinated, and they didn't know there were no do-overs.

People have our ice cube trays all tied up making ice cubes (with plain old *water!* Imagine that!) But it's been 90ish degrees out for days and we have some silicone candy molds I could repurpose to make coffee ice cubes, so I guess I can't complain.
