Only 5,511 turned up to watch the Dragons vs Ospreys on the weekend. In the last 22 years, only 2 meetings between these teams have attracted smaller crowds.

Today, Leinster will field one of their least experienced squads of the last 15 years. Conveniently, they're facing the weakest team in the league. 😉

In this season's URC to date, 89% of games have resulted in home wins .... the highest ratio in the competition's history, and higher than any other major club rugby competition.

A big defeat at home to the Stormers for the Scarlets - their fourth biggest home defeat since 2003 in Celtic Rugby. It's also the first time they've failed to score at home in the competitions history.

Cardiff haven't won away vs Munster since September 2016, but tonight's bonus point defeat was the first time they've scored four tries in Ireland vs Munster since 1997.

Leo Cullen will be hoping for a win this weekend. If it happens, that'll make him Leinster's most successful coach of the modern era.

Good to see Rugby Australia recognising that Super Rugby is only half a competition - too few games generating too little revenue.

European Rugby's Champion Cup Quarter Finals attendance down ~30K as the competition becomes a procession for the richest clubs. This year was almost half of the 2010-11 season figure.

2024/5: 82,778 🔻 36%
2023/4: 111,406
2010/1: 158,112
2004/5: 162,500

Good luck to @ospreysofficial.bsky.social this weekend! Go well bois! And to the people of Swansea, get out and support your team!!!

Only just over 9K for ⬛ defeating 🟥 in Wales' premier game this season. That figure is almost 50% down on the long term average for that fixture. The sport is in crisis. There is no future vision, no leadership & no strategy in place to do anything about it. 💀

Everyone is excited about the Super Rugby Pacific season, but why has it been so good? I have crunched some numbers to find out, and you can read about it on RugbyPass here: www.rugbypass.com/news/the-raw...
The raw data that proves Super Rugby Pacific is currently a cut above
To appreciate how unique the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season has been, we need to look at other seasons and other competitions.

Conceding three yellow cards more than the opposition and still coming away with a win is mighty difficult. In fact, in the last 1,356 games in Celtic Rugby, it's only happened on 10 occasions – and Cardiff have done it twice!

Analysing refs is as important as analysing the opposition. Amongst the 23 active referees in the URC at the moment, nobody allows fewer turnovers per game than Hollie Davidson. So teams must adjust. Competing at the ruck is only going to cost you penalties.

All is not well in Canterbury. The Crusaders were defeated by Moana Pasifika today, with the 45 points they shipped the most they've conceded at home for at least 20 years (and last 166 games).

@ospreysofficial.bsky.social have only won once in Llanelli in the last eight years .... but with the form they are in at the moment, who would doubt they have a serious chance of reversing that trend?

Griffin Colby, in a reward for his outstanding performance in the Wales U20 game 🤯, has been rewarded with the Scarlets vs @ospreysofficial.bsky.social this weekend. This only be Griffin's 7th professional game. What could possibly go wrong?

Cardiff face 2 more major hurdles in their bid for victory in Treviso on Saturday. Hollie Davidson with a staggering 84% home win ratio has the whistle & she'll be joined by TMO Andrew McMenemy - he of the famous Carré knock on in Belfast. Thoughts and prayers.

There's a very strong correlation between the number of offloads a team makes vs the number of tries scored by that team. For the statisticians out there, r squared can be has high as 0.38 ...

The stats explain the huge difference between the two packs in @cardiffrugby.bsky.social defeat in Dublin. Leinster's starting pack made 79 carries to the visitor's 42. Even allowing for McNally's substitution, Seb carried the ball only once. Not good enough.

The Western Force just won in Canberra despite being yellow carded four times more than the Brumbies. Only three other team in the 18,516 games in our database have ever matched that. Outstanding work in the face of adversity from the men from Perth.
