Virginia is the best Commonwealth. I help Dem candidates, orgs and staff use social engagement to earn votes through my company, Politically Connect.
If you are running for office and not: 1) attending a #nokings event this weekend (and posting about it) and 2) meeting up with content creators while you’re there, you’re missing SUCH an easy way to connect with voters.

need you to constantly remind yourself that the average normal person has no idea that any of the stuff we are rightly getting upset about is going on. they dont know. and we need to do everything we individually can to make them know.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

Dems needed to talk plainly about why the short term pain of a government shutdown would be “worth it” to people who have a lot on the line. The ones who cannot really afford to miss a paycheck. And they needed to start doing it weeks ago.

Everyone - EVERYONE - can be an “influencer” re/public policy. It takes being willing to share your story. This is a great read and an excellent example: @pittsburghsteeler.bsky.social www.usatoday.com/story/opinio...

I'm an NFL player and malaria almost killed me. Foreign aid funding freeze puts treatments that saved me in jeopardy, and may cost 17,000 more lives.

I think we’re going to be talking about this for awhile…wishing all the best to the staff who was fired.
The President's Average Approval rating on 538 moved into the negatives last night.

ABC/Disney shut down 538 this morning. @abcnewsbot.bsky.social @disneyplushelp.bsky.social

This is not a drill, people.

As reported, the entire staff of 538 was laid off this morning. This is a severe blow to political data journalism, and I feel for my colleagues. Readers note: As we were instructed not to publish any new content, all planned updates to polls data and averages are canceled indefinitely. Huge loss :(

If you’re a Dem candidate running for office or planning to in the next year, you have an opportunity to get 👀 on your socials tonight. Use some of the relevant SOTU hashtags and keywords on your app of choice and share your thoughts. Ideally, make a quick video. Relate the issues to your district.

Here’s what I’m telling my Dem candidate clients right now: the more polished your social media video is, the more likely it is that your target audience will scroll on by. We want to see you in your car, making calls, making dinner - anything that feels authentic and behind the scenes.
