Love is making your significant other a dish just for them, even if it contains the smell of ingredients you can't stand.
Onions are bad enough, but cilantro is insult to injury.

Were they bought out by a venture capitalism company?
The restaurant where I order my poke bowl changed their ingredients and upped the price. So I get less fresh food, more ultra processed crap, AND I have to pay more for that 🙄
So fine, I bought everything I need to make them now because fuck that shit
Like $25 for a rice bowl like come on

For the sake of my sanity I assume all these sort of takes are found on reddit and are just karma farming.
I can't accept that people are *That* ...anyways.

I saw one of the weirdest gaming takes online today.
Some guy was proud of the fact that he only lets his kids play Ps1 and genesis because that's all he had growing up.
What a dick
assuming that financial circumstances aren't the reason why, this guy is just a totally weird gatekeeper.

I keep learning new (old) ways that the two party system grooms itself into never changing in any meaningful way.
Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.
Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.
One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

Its sad, but given today's socioeconomic conditions I always have to ask: Good news for who exactly?
Hey look! Good news.
In an early, small, trial, a new gene-editing drug reduced cholesterol and triglycerides in high-risk heart-disease patients.
Early. Small. But still.

CRISPR gene-editing works to reduce high cholesterol in a new study
An experimental gene-editing treatment shows promise for permanently lowering levels of cholesterol and triglycerides, possibly helping cut the risk for heart disease.

I know its just factual, but it hurts my soul to be reminded that insurance really is just legalized gambling on an abnormally long timeline.
On the bright side, it does make for a funny arc in the Discworld series...

I need to find other boaties, or really anyone, within reasonable travel distance who're also into rpttg and the like.
I got a few games, with more on the list to get.
Nobody to play them with.
Not DnD though.
Does my head in.

Its always going to be easy to cave on health care because its not a "Visible" deficit.
If someone can't afford healthcare, you won't notice it unless that someone is near you and they finally meet an injury or disease they can't handle. We're already very good at ignoring our failing-

TLR: Food has almost always been a central point of nearly every major war in history. Even the ones you think are about good and evil are often as simple as wanting more farmland, supply routes being cut off, or the wealthy taking while their people starved.

yea the problem with poverty and food scarcity is that once people experience extended food scarcity that shit is carved in there forever. this was a major observable thing after the great leap forward and its resulting famine

I said it before, but given present uncertainty, its worth talking about how underrated potatoes are for a budget meal.
Just two of them with a bit of butter, salt, and pepper can be a full meal. No fussing either; 10 minutes in the microwave after slathering them in oil.
Best part is it-

There is a finite and ever dwindling pool of boomers, the only people this sakes tactic works on.
I do not want to be smiled at. Much like a, I will perceive it as a threatening display.

"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.
They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.
If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."
🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.

Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.
