Even if you're completely on Bluesky's side on this, thinking that quoting a Johnny Cash lyric in an obvious joke about a Johnny Cash article should be treated like a serious death threat,

What the fuck do you mean, "Our mod team's turnaround time on responding to Death Threats is a month?"
CORRECTION: The post was made on Oct 10. Due to a backlog in cases, our mod team didn’t review and take action until Nov 11, which is when we engaged with the account owner about the reason for suspension.

The reason the tech billionaires and oligarchs are funding the far right and the repression it comes with is because their vison of the future includes climate catastrophe and the death and displacement of billions.
And they know they'll need protection from us.

As part of any serious development workflow? The idea is laughable. But did a few programmers ask ChatGPT for a quick bit of boilerplate code? Did an artist use a placeholder from Dall-E in a background for a bit? We need to stamp those use cases out before they become a bigger problem.

For this to be a problem you have to accept that every Bond has been the same guy, which obvious no one does, so what's the problem?
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

If you use ChatGPT you're supporting shit like this happening. I don't care if you find it useful or if it's just for a quick question now and then. Stop it, now.

The sandwich exploded on me. I could feel it through my bulletproof vest. The worst part about it, though, was the smells. Onions. Mustard. I'll never forget what I went through that day. How could I. How could anyone. Mustard stains, oh god, the mustard stains.

Companies wouldn't be trying to stop unionisation if unions weren't both necessary and effective. Don't give in to fear, that's how we lose.

This is the most ruthless act of union busting in the history of the UK games industry. Yesterday, @rockstargames.com unfairly fired over 30 employees for union activity.

We won't back down, and we're not scared - we will fight for every member to be reinstated.
BREAKING: Yesterday Grand Theft Auto VI maker Rockstar Games fired dozens of people, all of whom were involved in union efforts. A British union calls it "blatant and ruthless" union-busting. Take-Two Interactive says it was due to misconduct.

They Avocado Toast-ed us Millennials for years, but Gen Z is getting accused of indulgent overspending for having a pastry ONCE A WEEK???
“At the same time, more than half of Gen Z members say they are struggling to make ends meet, yet a majority buy themselves a small treat, such as a pastry, coffee, or sweet, at least once a week. That can lead to overspending…”

This, but also, the fact that they work doesn't mean it's okay to use them
the fucked up part of ai is that it's built by programmers, so all the ai programming tools are made to assist programmers, and work far better than you'd think

meanwhile, ai art tools are always about "replacing" artists instead since these ai people see dealing with artists as a waste of time

There might be some truth in this but I always saw Mordor as London rather than a foreign country. The evil was industrialisation at the expense of the natural environment, and the demon god was capitalism.
There's A Lot Of Stuff Going On in LORD OF THE RINGS and unfortunately I genuinely think one of those things is a basically racist depiction of a conflict between genetically superior Anglo-Saxon-coded westerners and Muslim-coded fallen men worshipping a demonic god to their southeast.
