My post yesterday on the $Ibn Trump legal threat against the BBC has been picked up by newspapers around the world. It would appear few had gone through the letter and spotted that, well, it contained no evidence in support of its claims of damage.

Professional fireworks are as loud as 175 dB!

Yes, new research among ex-military reported in the New York Times showed that exposure to loud noises, even when unrelated to actual combat, damaged internal organs and left micro-striations in the brain associated with a dramatic decline in cognitive functioning and mental health.

Agreed, though professional-grade fireworks are even louder (up to 150 dB), equivalent to actual military artillery. How many people using and watching these wear ear protection? Even so, the shock waves cause permanent physical damage. There's simply no safe level of exposure to noise above 100 dB.

DUP Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly has turned down an invitation to attend Catherine Connolly’s inauguration as Irish president.

It will be the first time since the signing of the Good Friday Agreement that a serving first or deputy first minister has not attended.

AND if considered two words (Spéir ghorm) then the second is lenited anyway as an adjective following a feminine noun

Just to add that #SpéirGhorm is also correct even when you take ‘spéir’ and ‘gorm’ as two separate words - this is because ‘spéir’ is feminine and so adds a h to the following adjective;

(a) blue sky - spéir ghorm
(a) red sky - spéir dhearg
(a) black sky - spéir dhubh

What's deeply funny about this:

It's mostly tied to 10 year targets around robo taxis and Tesla sales figures he has zero chance of meeting.

So it's just pure delusion on all sides. 12 year old brains doing 12 year old 'cool' things all round.

I like fireworks but they shouldn't be sold to the general public. Obviously some twat's going to lob one at a paramedic. Garden fireworks are always shit anyway. Go and give the rotary club a fiver and watch a good display in a field with a candyfloss machine and a tombola.
