I woke up with a CRAZY scary stupid thought:

Maybe I should run for Congress against Steny Hoyer.

Dude’s been in office since 1981. He’s in his late 80s.

If I do it, I’ll run as a progressive independent caucusing with, but not controlled by Dems. And I will NOT take PAC money of any kind.

“Deadly diseases don’t bother with borders; no wall will keep them out. If America stays the course, 'Something went wrong' will become the epitaph of a great country, one that once led the world in global health preparedness,” Craig Spencer writes:
The Diseases Are Coming
Elon Musk’s slash-and-burn government tear will have lasting effects on global health.

One of the depressing findings in Origin Story research is that in many cases things only get better when somebody terrible and powerful dies. Not to be all Great Man Theory but it happens a lot

Systems and structures are powerful of course but history tells us that if (God forbid) Putin or Trump or Musk were to (tragically) die, then things would change dramatically

I’m quoted in this excellent case for a careful appraisal of UK defence spending. So much spent on expensive systems that cannot address the new situation - any required new spending can almost certainly be found by cutting these, rather than international aid.

Keir Starmer, you claim huge and damaging cuts are vital so we can buy arms and defend ourselves. Prove it | Owen Jones
Splurging the cash is not the answer to Europe’s security jitters. Let’s ignore the hyperbole and decide what’s actually needed, says Guardian columnist Owen Jones

Mark Warner on Fox: "I may disagree with the president, but I respect the office of the president. I'm probably not gonna be jumping up applauding a lot, but I owe him his due as president. The president has made great, great progress on border crossings. That's something we ought to celebrate."

J.P. Morgan econs on Trump’s latest are “increasingly concerned that the policy mix may tilt into an unintentionally far less business-friendly stance. The sustained 25% tariff on Canada and Mexico set to start this weekend is materially different than the tariff increases built into our baseline.”

this is truly despicable.
J.D. Vance uses DEI to cover for a potentially white male pilot being at fault: "When you don't have the best standards in who you're hiring, it means, on the one hand, you're not getting the best people in government, but on the other hand, it puts stresses on the people who are already there."
Hesgeth and Vance use the Washington D.C. airliner-helicopter crash to make anti-diversity, equity and inclusion points, suggesting it was to blame for the collision.

The Vice President didn't even open his remarks by referencing the victims or families - just straight into anti-DEI points.
