This 345 Park situation is pretty scary. Hope everyone else in the building is ok. It’s a big property and I know a lot of people had to shelter in place while this was happening

Like so many folks, I really loved Andor. But what’s amazing and special is that a lot of the most gifted artists and creators behind the show have been incredibly open about their creative process behind their work on the series. Here’s a roundup of interviews with those geniuses:

1/ The nascent Tesla boycott movement got me thinking back to the 80s anti-apartheid movement. How it took off and literally changed the world.

If the South African apartheid regime could be brought down, perhaps one South African oligarch could be? www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

A piece of history every Indian should know is that the United Nations International School in New York was started by a Keralite Christian who discovered that even Jesuit schools in Manhattan wouldn't take his son.

Lamp post ad seen on 125th street. Sounds like half a scam and twice the drama.

I am more amused by the analog advertisement targeting unhurried pedestrians.

The Welsh told the Saxons this hill was called "pen" (meaning "hill"). The Saxons added their word for hill, "tor," and called it Torpen (hill hill).

Later the Norse added their world for hill. So it became Torpen Haugr (Hill Hill Hill).

Now the English call it Torpenhow Hill (Hill Hill Hill Hill)

I'm sure a million other people have said this, but I'm one:

I don't think non-sewing people understand how much human labor goes into the 21st century creation of clothing. A single garment is still the culmination of hours of undervalued human work.
Arguably the thing that people treat the most dismissively that would absolutely floor pre-modern people is clothing. I don't think non-historians understand how much human labor went into pre-modern creation of clothes and fibers. A single dress is the culmination of many many hours of work

Soooo I decided to create that #litmag about chronic illnesses and disabilities written by creators who experience this. Check out the new website for FLARE Magazine, opening to subs very soon! #writingcommunity Spread the word!!

Also, follow our bluesky account: @flaremagazine.bsky.social!
As a writer, I want to make a difference. Part of me kind of wants to create a lit mag that publishes work from disabled and chronically ill writers where the work showcases the realities of chronic illnesses and disabilities.

#writingcommunity

Is this a good idea? Yes? No? Thoughts?
