NWSL has been standing still and hoping no one notices, and in all likelihood a Black player who stood up for others — in the absence of proper moral leadership from the league — is going to have the right-wing rage machine aimed directly at her.

And everyone saw it coming.
It might seem easy to stand still and hope no one notices during these particularly hellish times, but NWSL is not in a position to do that without putting human beings in danger.

Also as several colleagues have noted, the photo choice here is absolutely intentional and points in a grim direction.
Deeply disappointed in Liz Eddy here, who I've always liked and respected. A reminder that we have a lot of work to do when it comes to educating the public about why trans inclusion isn't just morally correct, but competitively sound share.google/Gjf9a1Sl01eL...

I’m kind of speechless with this one. I can’t imagine the kind of person who continues to make the argument that it doesn’t count as real starvation if the kids were already sick.

To me that’s a double red card and a drop ball to the Colombia GK. Red to the Brazilian player for kicking out at the Colombian player and red to the Colombian player for retaliating with a headbutt on the Brazilian player.

Curt Johnson, named in the 2022 Sally Yates report for his role in hiring Paul Riley in North Carolina despite being aware of allegations against Riley for bringing players to his apartment to drink, and suggesting those two players kiss, has been named the first GM of NWSL Denver.

When I interviewed KKK leaders in Arkansas, this is what they said too. “We don’t hate anyone. We just love our own people.” Then they burned a cross.
“Social solidarity is destroyed when you have too much migration too quickly,” JD Vance tells our columnist Ross Douthat in this episode of “Interesting Times.” “That’s not because I hate the migrants or I’m motivated by grievance. That’s because I’m trying to preserve something in my own country.”

Look on the bright side: within a few days of the USMNT losing to Panama last summer, power was wrestled away from the sitting US President and he was told his political career was over. Maybe history will repeat itself.
