While stopped on a deserted country road, this group of feathered friends scurried by. It was the oddest thing, like they were on the lam from a processing plant.

For Bird Of The Day Least, a colour photograph, captured by the side of a deserted country road, of three ducks, one turkey and four chickens scurrying down the road as if they were escaping from the processing plant. It was a most unusual sight!

Underneath the whole image are dark grey girder-like structures holding everything up. These are covered at the top by luxuriant growth in greens, reds, oranges & yellows representing our beautiful world. At the bottom of the painting there is a black soup gradually making its way up to the beauty of the top where it is killing off the lush growth. Between the black & the colourful are the bad players represented by yellow & black stripey snakelike creatures.

Sometimes they are black. Other times brown. If lucky, when the sun is shining, hues of indigo blue will ripple throughout the plumage. A Cormorant.

I have a few favourite wave photos, taken over the years at a few beaches in #Iceland, and this is one of them, from this day in 2021. Slowing down the exposure (this is 0.3 sec) allows you to capture some beautiful movement 🌊
A large greenish wave is breaking as it meets the beach. The exposure is slowed down so the water is smooth. There are some white areas of froth above and lines as the wave breaks, as well as on the beach in front. Behind is grey sea.

"Night on Bare Mountain" painted a while ago, while listening to the piece by Modest Mussorgsky on repeat. Someone recently told me that they could feel the music while looking at the painting!

Yes it could be argued that keeping up with world events is important but alternatively can I interest you in hugging an ancient mossy boulder that looks like a face and quietly listening while it tells you stories from centuries cloaked in mist.
A lovely mossy boulder with a face. I walked past this venerable stone gentleman on Dartmoor when I was beginning to write my first novel, Villager, and it whispered all 104,000 words of the book to me. So now I have to pay it all of my royalties. Unfortunately my ex-publisher stopped paying me royalties last year. Understandable, the boulder was not happy. But now I have a new publisher and the book is being republished this Thursday. So remember if you purchase a copy you will be helping a boulder to eat, pay the rent on his riverside moss garden, and feed his boulder family.

Last weekend my better half and I went up north (a bit) to visit his parents.
Having been perfectly well for months on end we are both coming down with something unpleasant! No idea what it is, hasn't completely manifested yet - can't wait!

My abstract art has a lot of detail giving great depth and texture. It is incredibly difficult to get this across on social media. The recent open studios I did showed me that I was right!
Any idea how to combat this issue?
