I grew up on transit, bike, & work w/ ADAS transport. Everyone deserves good mobility options! Posts are my own & don't speak for my employer.

These pictures are incredible! The 2nd one with the civilian in the blue shirt is especially disconcerting though.... 😬.
I simply refuse to accept that police ever have to look like this. this is just pure cosplay. it should be illegal for cops to be dressed like soldiers going to war.

This really is an exceptional video and provides a huge service to the urban biking conversation around the world, and particularly here in North America and places like Australia/New Zealand. The length may scare you a bit, but if you really want to understand, it’s worth it.

I even have a cameo.
WATCH: If you REALLY want to understand a BIG reason why cycling [aka riding a bike] is so dangerous in North America, and one of the biggest villains in the origin story of our unsafe status quo, invest some time watching this one, by NOT JUST BIKES (aka @theurbanistagenda.com here). Then share it.

It's eye opening.
I didnt know John Forester but many of his beliefs are circulating.
NJB is helping to sort all the 'arguments'.

Remarkable, that so many people had to read, what obvieously was considered the standard work:
When I took the League of American Bicyclists instructor certification seminar back in 2011, John Forester’s book was required reading. Even back then I knew it was BS, & I’m glad the League has come around since.
Oh boy, I had the same exact experience as Not Just Bikes when I decided I needed to read John Forester's Effective Cycling before writing about vehicular cycling in my book. It is a truly horrible book, and you really do not need to read it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRPd...

Marvelous! PA is about to finalize its budget with a signature from the governor this afternoon! I'm less than thrilled that we are leaving the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, but at least we have a budget and state programs will get their funds!

How can you NOT be a lot more political, especially in the US?
Folks have been telling me they’ve noticed I’ve gotten “a lot more political” on social media this year.

Of course I have.

The circumstances have gotten nightmarishly worse, and the consequences of inaction and staying silent infinitely more obvious.

Everyone needs to get “a lot more political.”

Is this a Pennsylvania State Law thing as well? Because so many PA municipalities leave the maintenance of sidewalks to the property owners, including Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
This is a small snow plow for sidewalks

If your city plows the roads but leaves sidewalks up to property owners, your city hates pedestrians.

Don't be intolerant of people for the things they can't control like their ethnicity, race or gender.

Do be intolerant of people for the things they can control like their greed, their corruption and their intolerance of people for things they can't control.

Thanks for coming to my #TedTalk.

I'm very excited about the Spring Garden Connector project! When I was #biking in #Philly in March, I took a ride down Spring Garden one evening...and it left much to be desired.

The public meeting is THIS Wednesday evening! Sadly I won't make it. #BikePhilly

A lot of D2C ebike companies are like that. I learned that that hard way with my Juiced Bike, despite claims that "any bike shop will service it". Plus some parts are inferior for ebike demands.

That's why my biggest advice is to get an ebike via your local bike shop. Just wish they were cheaper.

I'm grateful for intermodal transport. When I ride a bit far, I'm thankful that all of these local buses have bike racks that are free to use with payment of fare. Now I rest as I make my way back home. #BetterThanEurope #Pittsburgh #GreatAlleghenyPassage #GAP #bikelife

Needless to say that I am in lovesick the five door Capacity bus operated by Hochbahn, who are, afaik, the only company which uses this variant

It's wonderful to see all the families out trick or treating throughout the neighborhood. Some blocks were closed to cars too!

What a wonderful part of living in a safe, walkable community. Those who are driving, biking, skating & especially e-biking (lol), be sure to look out for the little ones!

I'm wondering what kind of cyclist I am and what I could be. So far, I'm a bike commuter, though I can see myself doing more gravel riding...and maybe touring if I ever get that confidence to camp?

I dream of biking from Pittsburgh to DC! 🤩🤩 Meanwhile I'd love to reliably take my bike on #Amtrak!
The @santacruzbikeparty.bsky.social elected me to plan and lead the ride again!

The last 1.5 years has been transformative for my cycling identity.

It’s never too late to reimagine what kind of cyclist you are!

Looking forward to the “Attitude of Gratitude” theme!

I finally managed to install my Joe Ride cupholder and onto my gravel bike! Now, with the front basket, my set up feels complete, even though I couldn't find room for a phone mount.

At least this bike can now accommodate coffee shop runs. I do wish drop bars had more room for fun stuff though
