A senior Tory on Cornwall council, who has been a vocal supporter of Spaceport Cornwall (scene of the failed Virgin Orbit rocket launch in 2023), landed a £70,000 job as the spaceport’s “head of future air and space” while still operating as the council’s cabinet member for the economy.

Those who quote the Dunning-Kruger effect would be well advised to consider their own stupidity before casting stones at others. Resist the temptation - we’re all pretty daft when it comes to it

People on social media bemoaning the lack of critical thinking by others are rarely as smart as they think they are. They are, however, usually conceited

At the beginning of the war, we took in some young refugees from eastern Ukraine. They told us how close the ties are between that part of their country and Russia - language (they spoke Russian), culture and many, many people with family links across the two countries. The problem

What is it with these shit-and-run Brexiters? The patriotism which they claim to be their driving force seems to melt the minute the outcomes they predicted don’t materialize because they were fantasies in the first place.

Julie Gray, wife of Holocaust survivor Gidon Lev, who joined Musk in his visit to Auschwitz speaks out. She says that Musk felt nothing during the tour & only "cared about how he looked."

She shared this with me privately shortly after the tour, and I'm grateful she made her thoughts public.

“How will an ambulance get through?”

A question only asked of those trying to save our planet, not millionaire landowners trying to hoard wealth.

Farmers received record support in the budget. Pay what is still less than your fair share, take your tractors and piss off.

Child Poverty % (children living in households below the minimum wage)

Denmark 2.4%
Finland 3.2%
Norway 3.6%
Sweden 3.6%

The UK 32.1%

All four of those countries have child benefits, paid by taxing the rich, that make it almost impossible for a child to be in poverty.

With Farage back on Question Time last night...

...here is your reminder that Farage was on BBCQT a record-breaking 35 times before he became an MP.

And, further, that the panellist selection on BBCQT has been heavily slanted to right-wing think tanks and commentators over the years.
An open letter to the BBC
