CSAC Rules Emanuel Navarrete vs Charly Suarez A ‘No-Contest’
The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) voted unanimously on Monday morning that WBO super featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete’s (39-2-1, 32 KOs) technical decision victory over Charly Suarez (18-0, 10 KOs) on May 10 has been changed to a “no-contest.” The decision, which Boxing Scene’s Lance Pugmire first reported, comes off the heels of a highly debated fight where, in the sixth round, there was a close encounter that led to a cut over the left eye of Navarrete. Initially, the referee deemed the cut to be from a headbutt, and the fight continued.

It’s been a few days, and after all of the negative chatter on social media concerning super middleweight Jaime Munguia, his team sent out a press release that clarifies opinions that have been created since the May 29 VADA positive test result for PEDs (Performance Enhancing Drugs). The 28-year-old Munguia (45-2, 35 KOs) from Tijuana, MX, released a statement shortly after the results were posted on social media claiming that he did not take any PEDs and that he would await due process to play out before further commenting on the situation.
