Time to remind Canadians where Pierre Poilievre and his band of fluffers stand on this issue...

NOT on the side of protecting the health and welfare of Canadians.

Your reminder that Moderna’s newly updated COVID vaccine, targeting the LP.8.1 variant, has been approved by Health Canada and, for the first time, will be manufactured here in Canada. So I fully expect those of us who want it to be able to get it. When? I would think late October.

Dog bites man headline.

Since 2020 we have literally added a virus that most people now get once or twice per year. Add in that it also often comes with a post-viral condition.

Why is it never mentioned that **of course** people are taking more sick days? Most predictable thing ever.

American political influence has crept in like a shadow. What was once a proud province is now infected by a divisive ideology. It is not just political influence. It is psychological warfare. The goal is always the same: divide the people so they never unite against the powerful.

This is a warning. Alberta is not immune to the sickness of authoritarian capitalism, cloaked in patriotism, funded by billionaires and sold as common sense. It convinces us that we should slash the social safety net so that those who need it most are punished. #Alberta

Air Canada was so clearly banking on the government forcing the flight attendants back to work and they have no idea what to do now.

It's kinda fascinating how both AC and the government just assumed they could just rig this against the flight attendants and never expected the union to push back.

They underestimated public support for flight attendants & how much people hate Air Canada. Also, the unpaid labour discussion is hitting a nerve because a lot of us are asked to do this while our pay is stagnant but executive pay & bonuses goes up. Carney & his team have bad political instincts.

The entirety of NASA believes that the moon is made out of rock and not cheese. This kind of ideological uniformity is really hurting us.
You can't make this up: Kennedy's anti-vax goons say the old ACIP members were biased because they think vaccines are a good public health tool—something they call "ideological uniformity" but what most other people call settled truth.

All this:

1. AI is built on theft.
2. AI creates disinformation.
3. AI is already manipulated by billionaires to purposefully do so.

4. AI text is garbage, full of meaningless, unconnected phrases.

There may be fine uses in summarizing text and research, etc. But not in AI as it mostly exists.
I'm an "A.i." abolitionist.

No consumer-facing LLMs or generative "A.i." in anything.

Sure, machine learning in science and a few other limited applications is fine.

But consumer-facing LLMs and generative "A.i." that are based on theft, push disinfo, and can be manipulated by billionaires?

No.

The federal government should prohibit the wearing of masks by ICE agents and require them to properly identify themselves.

Our choices with extra carbon are
1) keep it in the ground
2) stuff it back into the ground somehow
3) add more and more of it to the biosphere

#1 is by far the cheapest. So why do we keep doing #3?

Because the costs of #3 are not borne by the producer or the consumer but by the whole world.

The bad guys have had people's SINs for 2 months. 1 month that NS Power was clueless and 1 month that they didn't warn people.

The province needs to put this company under conservatorship until this gets settled.
You want to believe that there’s going to be a massive lawsuit over this. I got the letter yesterday and will be contacting lawyers.
Why is NS Power guaranteed a profit when they can’t even protect our data?
