The 57 Bus has gender and queer people in it. That’s what they’re banning. I say this as a person and a writer who is queer, and to explain to those of you (not Dashka) who don’t understand why books are getting banned. Banners claim to be against “obscenity” but they’re really against queer folks

Started reading stuff I picked up at #NCTE2024

Starts off a bit heavy handed on the "I'm a girl from a conservative Jewish family" but it settles into a fun read.

I'm not sure about the representation, so
I'll be following up with a few of my students about it.
