Pushing policy to new and never-before-seen boundaries of craziness. London is a great city! Not as good as Manchester, sure, but you can't have it all. That some Americans have convinced themselves that it is a dangerous hellscape is bizarre.

Home Office Ministers state publicly, on the record, that they are deliberately making life worse for older people and people with disabilities who depend on care services, but it's worth it because it reduces net migration.

Given Trump’s ties to Larry Ellison, and the involvement of middle eastern sovereign wealth funds in the Paramout bid, and the Trump family’s utter disregard for obviously disqualifying conflicts of interest, this is…not surprising.

Imagine the reaction to allegations that Corbyn had made hissing gas noises to Jewish kids as a schoolboy - and then if he had responded to those allegations by shouting 'Bernard Manning!' at the journalists
The radio silence about Farage from people who are usually supremely vocal about antisemitism is so so telling.

This is a real problem for those of us with “barrister brain”. The constant cramming into and dumping out of memory that the job entails means Incan only remember childhood and the last 72 hours /1
Various replies and quotes of this are your weekend reassurance that in fact most of us have no real memory for many of the people we've met at some point or other... but we all have to pretend a bit.

They are being replaced with Trump’s birthday.

Just a vicious, lawless regime.

The spectacle of masked gangs of state vigilantes, ripping people out of cars in full view of the street, is a terrible reminder of how quickly the unthinkable can become normal in a democratic society.
Agents in Key Largo, Florida ripped this woman wearing medical scrubs out of her car as she screamed she is a US citizen. Agents cuffed her and put her in one of their cars.

She was eventually let go, per David Goodhue of the Miami Herald, who also took this footage:

I just can't get over the fact that the guy who gave this quote is 45. It would be embarrassing for all involved if this quote came from the *current* under-14 chess champion, but from an adult...I worry I've ruptured something from cringing so hard.
Truly shocking that Rachel Reeves had the audacity to call herself the U14 girls chess champions when she won the U14 girls chess championship but some bloke thought she was talking about something else.
