Fox filled my mom's head with disturbing narratives, replacing her memories of reality with new story lines starring her good friend, "the Trumpster." She doesn't know my name anymore, but she knows his. I lost her and she lost me. And that is all I need to know about the power of state media.

My mom was showing signs of dementia. Her television kept "breaking." With each frantic call, I raced over to reset the remote and duct tape everything except the power button. I tried to leave it on Hallmark, but the evil channel always found its way back to number one position. Fox News.
