Pope Leo XIV is an American with Peruvian citizenship, but his identity may have been most deeply molded by his connection to the Augustinians, which has fewer than 3,000 members. The group expects Leo to emphasize missionary outreach and the importance of listening.

Catholic nerds are dying to see who will fill the giant shoes that Francis left… glad to see @massimofaggioli.bsky.social weighing in here: www.npr.org/2025/04/23/n...
Who are the cardinals selecting the next pope?
The conclave to select a new pope will be sharply different from the body that chose Francis in 2013. Experts say that could make it harder to predict what the conclave will do.

Washington is full of rule-following valedictorians who were inspired by the West Wing and did Model UN and moot court and studied their heroes and who believe in using government to help people.

That's nice, but you need to learn how to swing on the illiterate bullies who steal lunch money.

Just finished this book on @librofm.bsky.social. Solito is an amazing true story of a 9 year old’s 7 week journey from El Salvador to the US. As the new generation of Nazis continue to vilify immigrants, we must embrace the future. Immigrants are the only hope we have!

The dialogue about immigrants is truly horrific. The Nazi movement is in full gear & their new focus is the hard working people from South & Central America. I’d rather live next door to them than a MAGA supporter any day.

I do think the SEC was long overrated & the playoff structure continued to lean on the scales to help them out. They weren’t deserving of it before & they’ve shown us how they fare when up against real competitors.
