We want this youth-led event to be a space to:
✅ Learn how young people can engage in climate action,
✅ Discuss opportunities for change,
✅ Create solutions for ourselves,
✅ Collaborate to make solutions happen!

The future belongs to all of us—especially the next generation! MLI is inviting young people (18-25 years) from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD), Pasifika, and First Nations backgrounds to our mini Youth Summit, which will close out the 2-day Our Common Future Summit.

It’s the full circle of life.

The festival is named after the ceremonial “Pongal”, which means “to boil, overflow” and refers to the traditional dish prepared from the new harvest of rice boiled in milk with jaggery.
Animals used in farming are honoured and rice-powder based kolam (decorations) artworks are drawn outside homes.

While times have changed for many of us, it’s still important to have gratitude for the essence of life - food, and those who toil to provide this service

Happy Pongal to Everyone who celebrates this tradition.

This falls on the full moon cycle in January and is thanksgiving for nature, the farmers and the animals that used to help us plough the fields.

Maybe there is a correlation between the decline in democracies and governments suppressing protests.
