We know who's causing harm. The question is: why aren't we stopping them?
We know who's causing harm—yet systems fail survivors while giving perpetrators endless chances and protecting their power.

STOP asking AI systems for "opinions" and presenting their outputs as reasoned responses.
AI systems don't think or reason. They don't have "opinions." All they're doing is rewriting/recreating answers cobbled together from whatever materials were fed to it.

Australians have a lot to be proud of, including our Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). The US drug companies want to water it down, and we need our elected leaders to be brave in defending it. In an increasingly dangerous world, we will need leaders to be braver than they have been for decades

1. The difference so far (and for god's sake let's keep it that way) between X and Bluesky is not between right and left but between abuse and respect.
A good society is built on mutual respect. But what does this mean?

Good reminder. Complainants in pending trials aren’t helped by social media discussion about alleged perpetrators. Whether you like that part of our law or not, it’s the law. For justice to be done, for all involved, people reflecting on guilt/innocence in a public forum is so irresponsible.
It is true that the sub judice contempt rule needs to be reformed as it is out of step with modern digital reality, however in the meantime the best way to ensure Alan Jones gets a trial at all (let alone a fair one) is to shut up about the criminal charges against him.

I wish I was making this up, but the boss of the National Anti-Corruption Commission has given a speech where he admits that he acted with "apprehended bias" during the Robodebt non-investigation. As Bernard Keane and many others argue, Brereton has to resign www.crikey.com.au/2024/11/18/p...
Discredited Brereton should stop whingeing and resign from the NACC
The National Anti-Corruption Commission head devoted a major speech to explaining why he shouldn't resign. It perfectly demonstrated why he should.
