Tom Hanks explained
his mask wearing
by noting “I’ve had Covid
enough in my life,
I don’t need to do that again,”
and he is right, for he knows
“life is like a box of chocolates
you never know
what you’re going to get”
so you should try
not to keep getting Covid.

I am grateful for all the music and musings I have heard because of Fred Child. I wish him well, but will miss him at the helm of #PerformanceToday terribly. #ClassicalMusic

All classrooms should build their own boxes as a STEM, civics, and health merge. #CorsiRosenthalBoxesAcrossAmerica #cleantheairweshare
In our short existence, The Corsi-Rosenthal Foundation has issued 58 grants providing healthier indoor air to 30,000 ppl.

The Foundation aims to substantially increase these benefits to under-resourced schools over the next several months.

Congrats to a well-deserved trio! From WSJ:
Joel Mokyr, Philippe Aghion and Peter Howitt have been awarded the Nobel Prize.. for their work explaining how innovation and what economists call “creative destruction” drive economic growth.

Note that growth comes from process, not fiat.

I have nothing against László Krasznahorkai or his work, but every year when the #NobelPrize for #Literature is announced and I do not hear the name Colson Whitehead, they have gotten it wrong. @colsonwhitehead.com

Technology doesn’t always prevent mistakes; it can magnify them. One wrong click brought 63 writers together — and I’m honored to be one of them.
📖 Our book, TV-63, is out now.

Glad that at least one politician is trying to do the right thing when it comes to Ukrainian children. 🇺🇦
Thousands of Ukrainian children have been abducted by Russia since Putin’s invasion.

I stood with President Zelenskyy today at the UN to focus the world's attention on these horrific war crimes — and to strengthen our international efforts to bring these children home.

Y'all can keep ignoring me, but the science keeps coming in the same direction. For those thinking it's just a cold, remember that anecdote is not data, and that the elephant you thought was getting fat two years ago now has a baby. Some conclusions take time.
The framing is a bit weird, scientists are "rethinking", etc. Many of the most credible experts disputed the silly "immunity debt" argument and put forward the immunity *damage* argument from the get-go.
We're all sick more and it's because of COVID.
Great explainer on how a COVID infection hurts our immune system, so we're more sick, or sick more with other illnesses after a COVID infection.

The CDC quietly neutered the best Covid data on the planet yesterday. ED data visualization has been stripped of age stratification, and state-by-state trends.

ED data has been far better for state by state trends than WW. Poof.

Covid vaccines restrictively
only recommending them for
those over 65
and those with medical conditions,
but at this point
after Covid infection

I fear those with medical conditions
