Y'all I'm really, really concerned that the disability community is treating trans people as disposable when it comes to 504 activism/advocacy. We cannot do that. Not only do trans people deserve better but we also need each other (and trans disabled people exist!)!!!

People fighting inclusion literally do not know what it is. They think mainstreaming or putting a disabled kid in a class with zero support is inclusion. Then they are wondering why the kid can't magically adapt to a hostile, inaccessible environment that was set up to intentionally exclude.

I'm looking for tips for trans folks traveling to red states in the U.S. We're planning a trip this summer to visit family. My daughter and I want to be safe & prepared. (It's not one of the do not travel states but is in the American south).

I also wish very much that folks would read some older writing by self-advocate & neurodiversity bloggers, and some of the older books out there... because it can really feel like a whole cohort of newly-dx'd people is trying to reinvent the wheel of what we already know every 5 yrs or so.
There's a whole trend now where autistic people are blowing up on social media and getting brand and book deals within a year or two of diagnosis and I wish they'd take some time to reflect how much of their current ability to accept themselves and thrive is attached to their ability to monetize.
