sort of incredible to read a review that doesn't just made a vague nod at AI being bad, but actively reckons with the ways in which falling obsessively to AI usage actively obliterates the artistic intent and integrity of the work you've made.

broken record on this but a similarly great beat for left wing media would be covering arts and culture and not just focusing primarily on politics and current events because there's a massive void there right now
it does seem like there’s a major—though potentially fleeting—opportunity to invest in left-wing media. more than a million people in the most populous city in america just enthusiastically elected a democratic socialist and the world is watching. putting $$ towards left media rn is good business.

I've basically switched to getting my political news about America from The Guardian (I contrasted their headlines with the NYT for a week and felt so much more informed by The Guardian.) A good overview of wins last night here: www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...
Colorado has a 90s vintage law (TABOR) requiring voter approval of any change to taxes, a republican ploy to gum up the works since "increase taxes" is such a bogeyman. Last election, we voted that every one of these measures include a table like this, a BRILLIANT way to undermine tax fearmongering.
