Supreme Court seems likely to let religious families opt out of LGBTQ storybooks
The lawsuit over story time with titles like “Uncle Bobby’s Wedding” and “Love, Violet” is one of three major religious-rights cases on the Supreme Court docket.

A reminder that seven years ago almost to the day, the CIA determined that Mohammed Bin Salman ordered the killing of @washingtonpost.com journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

I hired and worked with Jamal for a year.

Happy International Mens Day. Men still do the most dangerous jobs. Are more likely to take their own lives. Experience perceived social penalties for being paternal, caring, sensitive etc. So, with consent, hug a man today. Fixing the patriarchy is in the best interests of men too!

To show how bad things are — and, no, I am not even saying this is new, but — here is the latest from the Trump admin on conditions at the Broadview ICE facility outside Chicago.

A humane govt would be addressing bedding and food before starting detentions — not needing time after a TRO to do so.

Corruption is on the ballot in NYC. This election will answer the question of whether city voters are fed up with ethically compromised politicians like Adams, Cuomo, and the reigning giant of the field, Trump. My new piece for @contrariannews.org contrarian.substack.com/p/the-new-yo...
The New York City mayor’s race is an ethics test
Trump, Adams, and Cuomo have made it a choice between corruption and Mamdani.

I was recently laid off by ARTnews, a few days before the theft at the Louvre. The terms of my TN work visa means I can't freelance unless I donate the funds to charity. I'm open to new FT roles in business reporting and communications, and am willing to relocate to other cities, including Toronto.

Its so hard to understand the scope and scale of the Federal attack on Chicago, led by ICE and CBP.

I put this map and table together, highlighting the most significant incidents from 9/19-10/25. The area shown is roughly 30 by 35 miles with incidents in all corners.

Our military is being paid by an anonymous donor.

Our WH East Wing was demolished for a ballroom - paid for by donors.

These aren’t acts of benevolence or patriotism.

This is the oligarchy assuming control, insidiously becoming part of how we function.

Every American should reject it.

For no reason at all: I suggest you take time & watch footage from the Hong Kong democracy protests — specifically 2019-2020 protests. Get a sense of what tech-enabled anti-protest policing looks like. Those kids came up with wild stuff to withstand/neutralize “non-lethal” crowd control techniques.
