Any Federal Gov contractors out there who are starting to factor in shutdown risks to your contract pricing?

I've spoken to 5 friends who are career federal workers, most of whom were around for the last Trump shutdown, and none of them know when the current shutdown will end. One even thinks it'll last until at least Thanksgiving.

The current #governmentshutdown is the third longest in US history. As of tomorrow it will tie for the second longest. Both the current and 1st longest happened under a Republican controlled Congress (House and Senate) and a Trump presidency.

As a data expert and someone who has been following AI concerns for years, this is ONE OF THE BIGGEST concerns people have had, that a political party would fabricate video of an opponent. I get that he actually said the words, but the video obfuscates the context and this should scare everyone.

This administration indicting someone for "mishandling classified information" just transcends irony.

The destruction of our nation's data resources, resources that we use to find, measure, and respond to critical issues facing The People are being systematically dismantled because their findings don't align with the administration's narrative.
Welp—CDC’s entire data team for its legendary national health and nutrition survey (NHANES)—our health census—has been laid off. Now we are flying blind to nutrition and chronic disease status in the U.S.—is this supposed to help us be MAHA? www.statnews.com/2025/10/14/c...

Something I've learned doing dev work for other people:

Never give your users multiple ways to do the same thing. You will regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday and for the rest of your time working on that project.
