President Trump announced far-reaching tariffs on most of the United States’ trading partners.

So far-reaching, in fact, that they include a remote Antarctic island group inhabited mainly by penguins — and a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean known for its polar bears. wapo.st/4lfaitV

this is just bad political instincts, period. most people don't care either way on trans issues and continuing to bring it up (as opposed to fighting back hard when Republicans take away ppls' rights) only plays into the hoax that "Democrats need to stop talking so much about trans issues"
SCOOP: Sarah McBride and other Dems have discussed how the party must accept Ds with differing stances on trans rights to not alienate people

“We have to create more space in our tent,” she told me

An inside look at Dems’ reshuffling on trans issues:

Finished Snyder’s latest today. His definition of freedom, as a positive concept, not just the removal of barriers, is something I’ll be thinking about for a long time going forward. Can’t wait to teach it next fall. #booksky

This is a great piece. One thing it’s important for folks to recognize is that the right has been working to whitewash the way US history is taught and publicly discussed for over a century now. What’s relatively new is how aggressively they’re using the power of the federal government to do it.
New, from me:

Trump is whitewashing American history, removing not just people, but also the stories, images, and values to anyone who does not conform to his impoverished vision of America.

Here is a partial inventory. 🧵

Profs leading discussion disagreed we could see the same kind of gov takeover 🙃 Started w Comey firing, the courts & SCOTUS, then AGs & DOJ

They should never work in politics again. THIS is the energy we need.
